Update on Wiguna Merta GroupWith the new methods for selling the piglets, the Wiguna Merta group earns more income then before. Some of the members are fattening pigs for sale and the others are raising sows for piglets. It's proven to be easy to sell the piglets.
Now they are agreed to continue the loan, but not only for pigs, but for farming also. Most of them have small gardens and they want to maximize the results. With the new loan, they will purchase piglets, feed and also various kinds of seeds and fertilizer.
Ni Nengah sells her piglets and is earning a satisfactory result. Now she joins the group for a new loan and will use it to purchase piglets, chilli seeds and fertilizer. She and her husband will plant the seeds in her garden. She wants to increase their income and she dreams of having enough savings to use as capital later. As the head of the group, she asked other member to improving their savings. She hopes the group can do it.

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
