The streets of Sololá are witness to the attractive colors that cover its handmade fabrics. It is impossible for tourists to pass by these fabrics without stopping to admire and purchase some. Francisco is an example of the living cultures of our country, Guatemala.

He is 43 years old and married, with three children ages 14, 10, and 7. His children all study in a school near his community. The dignified work that Francisco carries out each day is producing traditional handmade fabrics. He has been making and selling these for over 12 years since it is something that he enjoys doing that also helps to provide an income on which to support his family and improve their quality of life. With the earnings he gets from this activity, he will be able to offer his children a better education.

Francisco is requesting this loan in order to expand his house so that he can display more of his products to tourists that visit his community. One of Francisco's dreams is to expand his business and make more handmade crafts so that he can offer better service to the people who visit him.

Las calles de Sololá es testigo de los colores más vistosos impregnados en los tejidos artesanales. Es imposible que cualquier turista deje de admirar este producto, pararse y hacer una buena compra de ello. De 43 años de edad casado don Francisco es un ejemplo en tener vivos las culturas de nuestro país Guatemala, el tiene tres hijos de 14, 10 y 7 años de edad los cuales son estudiantes en la escuela cerca de su comunidad.

La actividad que el dignamente realiza es tejido artesanal el lo ha venido realizando desde hace mas de 12 años ya que para el es algo que le gusta hacer, para tener un ingreso económico par el sustento de su familia y mejorar las condiciones de vida par el y su familia, con los ingresos económicos que el obtiene de sus ventas de dicha actividad que realiza mejora los estudios de sus hijos.

El motivo de la realización del prestamos que el está realizando es para la ampliación de su casa, para exhibir mejor sus productos la las personas turísticas que visitan el lugar donde el está ubicado en su comunidad. Uno de los sueños de don Francisco es la ampliación de su negocio y la realización de más productos artesanales para poder brindarles un buen servicio a las personas que lo visitan.

ADICLA (Association for the Holistic Development of the Basin of Lake Atitlán) is nonprofit rural community development association that provides small loans and services to improve quality of life in two of the poorest regions of Guatemala, home to large indigenous populations.
