Margaret lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is married with one child. She sells charcoal at the market on both a retail and wholesale basis. She gets additional income from operating a restaurant at the market on retail basis. She serves all kind of people in her restaurant. Margaret has been in this business for the last 15 years. She takes care of additional family members, and she works seven days a week.
She has requested a loan of Ugandan shillings 3,000,000 from MCDT SACCO to buy bags of charcoal, bunches of green bananas, cassava, sweet potatoes, rice, cooking oil and serving utensils.
Her major challenges include transportation and seasonality. She is aspiring of buying a fridge and also to build rental houses. She lives in her own house, and the family has access to electricity and piped water. Her major expenses include food and medication.
