Lleva 10 años cultivando café en sus propias parcelas. Esta producción de café la ofrece en pergamino a los intermediarios de la zona. Don Melvin a solicitado varios prestamos para mantener estable sus cultivos, actualmente solicita el quinto ciclo que es por 11,000 lempiras para comprar fertilizantes y dar asistencia al cultivo de café. Su objetivo es lograr la compra de una manzana de tierra para sembrar mas café y que su hijos tengan un buen futuro.
