Aged 28 years old, Dalin is a married mother of two children living in a rural village of the Dambae district of Kampong Cham province, Cambodia. Both of her children are too young for school. Rice farming and cassava are the main sources of the family’s income. She has been in this business for 10 years.
Dalin has been with VisionFund for one cycle, and she completely repaid the past loan, which has enabled her to better support her family and have some money.
Now she is applying for another loan to pay for fertilizer and pesticides for her farmland. With this loan, she hopes to grow her rice and cassava healthfully, and sell it for a good price to improve her standard of living.
About VisionFund Cambodia
VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.
Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
