Hadijah is 36 years old and lives in the town of Makindye in the Kampala region of Uganda. She is married and has three children, with two of them currently in school.

For the past four years, Hadijah has been working hard to manage her salon business, which deals in hairdressing.

To help expand her business, Hadijah has requested a loan of 3,500,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more chemicals, weaves, and tongs, and it will help Hadijah to generate greater profits and pay her children's school fees. Hadijah hopes that in the future she will be able to build rental rooms.

Hadijah is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Hadijah who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
