Shamim
Shamim is 30 years old and lives in the town of Nansana in the Kampala region of Uganda. She is married and has two children, with one of them currently in school. For the past five years, Shamim has been working hard to manage her spare parts business, which sells spare parts.

To help expand her business, Shamim has requested a loan of 4,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more spare parts, and will help Shamim to generate greater profits and grow big. Shamim hopes that in the future, she will be able to open another outlet.

Shamim is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Shamim who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
