Gabriela is a young woman aged 23, who was born in La Paz, Bolivia. She is single and lives with her mother, stepfather and two sisters.
Gabriela says that she never had her father's support, however, she had a very happy childhood living with her maternal grandparents. Some time later, everything changed when her grandmother passed away. Her and the rest of her family went to live in Peru for three years and she started school there, where she was a remarkable and outstanding student.
They later returned to Bolivia at her grandfather's request and her mother set up her own business, which was the main source of household income. They had family problems and their income wasn't sufficient, so Gabriela began working at weekends as a waitress to pay for school and help her family.
When she finished school, Gabriela decided to study a biochemistry and pharmaceutical degree. Despite everything that happened before, she feels fortunate and believes that when she gets her degree everything will improve.
Her dream is to become a professional and specialise in a particular field with the aim of moving forwards and supporting her family financially. Gabriela is grateful to those who, through their economic resources, will allow her to finish her studies and in this way, achieve her goals.
Gabriela es una joven de 23 años, nació en La Paz – Bolivia, es soltera y vive con su mamá, su padrastro y sus dos hermanas.
Gabriela nos comenta que nunca contó con el apoyo de su papá, sin embargo tuvo una infancia muy feliz ya que vivía con sus abuelos maternos, tiempo después todo cambio cuando su abuela falleció, ella y toda su familia se fueron a vivir a Perú por tres años e ingreso al colegio donde fue una alumna destacada y sobresaliente. Posteriormente retornaron a Bolivia a solicitud de su abuelo y su mamá inició su propio negocio el cual era la fuente principal de ingresos de su hogar, atravesaron dificultades familiares y los ingresos que tenían ya no eran suficientes, por lo que Gabriela empezó a trabajar los fines de semana como mesera para poder pagar el colegio y ayudar a su familia.
Al terminar el colegio Gabriela decidió estudiar la carrera de Bioquímica y Farmacia y a pesar de todo lo ocurrido anteriormente, ella se siente afortunada y confía en que cuando obtenga su título profesional todo mejorará.
Su sueño es ser profesional y realizar una especialidad con el objetivo de salir adelante y apoyar económicamente a su familia.
Gabriela agradece a las personas que a través de sus recursos económicos le permitirán terminar sus estudios y así cumplir sus metas.
