Rocio
Rocio was driven by a friend to generate income by selling boli (frozen fruit), ice cream and chicha. She began freezing water and little by little adding other products to please her customers. This was 14 years ago and her goals haven't stopped. She wants to produce and sell in greater quantities. Although she works from 8 in the morning until 8 at night, selling to neighbors and passerby, she isn't very productive and she plans in the future to have a well organized ice cream parlor. This is the reason why she has turned to a Kiva loan. This is the first loan with the Fundación Mario Santo Domingo, with which she will buy a new freezer. Her biggest challenge is to increase her sales and gain her customers' and potential customers' loyalty so that she can finally generate income and remodel her house.
