Marilou lives in Misamis Occidental. She earns income through selling fish in their village while her husband does fishing to support the needs of her family. She has been doing this for many years. She always wants to augment their situation to provide an improved living standard for her family.
Without hesitation, Marilou borrows an amount to buy new fishing nets. She is a new member of GDMPC, and with her access to it, her goal of improving her business will become easier.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
