This group comprises three courageous women who have been working with Kiva's partner, ACFIME, since March 2012. The members of the group have always repaid their loans on time. Jacqueline, the group's representative, is a widow and the mother of four children (three of her children are adults already, and the fourth one, a minor, is still in school). Jacqueline has been managing her own bar since 2002. She employs five people and pays them each month. Thanks to this loan she will be better able to serve her customers. The profit from her loan will allow her to pay for her fourth child's school fees.

Ce groupe de trois femmes battantes travaille avec ACFIME depuis mars 2012 et elles sont toujours à jour de leur remboursement. Jacqueline est la responsable du groupe,elle est veuve et mère de quatre enfants dont trois majeurs et un mineur scolarisé. Jacqueline est gérante de sa propre buvette depuis 2002, elle a cinq(05) employé qu'elle rémunéré chaque mois. Avec ce prêt, elle pourra mieux servir sa clientèle. Le bénéfice lui permettra de payer la scolarité de son enfant mineur.

ACFIME is a microfinance institution in Burkina Faso that provides loans to women and farmers in low-income communities. Kiva funding allows ACFIME to offer solidarity loans to groups of women and agricultural loans to farmers who struggle to receive loans from other microfinance institutions in the country. With Kiva funding, ACFIME has the capacity to have a huge impact on the economic and social-well being of the most marginalized people in Burkina Faso.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
