Kwekwe is married and has two children who are adults. She owns a house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is food for the family.
For the past five years, she has operated a poultry-selling business. She sells to her neighbours and passersby. Her major challenges are the high cost of transportation to her place of operation.
With the loan, she wants to purchase chicks and chicken feed. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business and improve her living standard.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
