Rehema is a widowed woman with eight children. She owns a house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food and household consumables.
For over five years, she has operated a fruit and vegetable stall business, selling from home to her neighbours and passersby. With the loan, she wants to purchase stocks of green vegetables, fruits, tomatoes, potatoes and onions.
She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
