Travis is no stranger to getting his hands dirty. Working in construction for the last 15 years, he and his team are experts at every kind of job, from landscaping and masonry to electrical and home additions.
For Travis, the decision to start his own general contracting business was not a revelation as much as a long progression from youthful tinkerer to experienced industry insider.
“I’ve always been active and outdoorsy. I love getting dirty and building things,” Travis said.
Travis navigates the San Diego contracting market with confidence, since this is his second go-around at running this type of business. He learned a lot from his previous attempt, including how to manage people and how to leave his customers feeling satisfied with their experience. Through ups and downs, Travis has stuck with general contracting because it’s the kind of work he loves to do.
“I like building things that people want and helping people build their dreams,” he shared. “I also really like the process of turning an idea into reality.”
Travis will use his Kiva loan to expand his marketing efforts, putting emphasis on his company’s online presence, as well as to fulfill a few large contracts he is working on.
Travis’ hopes for the future are to keep expanding and to continue landing bigger and bigger contracts. More than for the money, Travis works hard because he wants to set a good example for his wife and four kids, ensuring that they are well provided for.
