A loan of $6,700 helped a member to buy clothing, shoes, perfumes, lotions and cosmetics.

24 De Diciembre Del Florón (Portoviejo) Group's story

In the area known as El Florón in the city of Portoviejo, the members of the Grupo de Crédito 24 De Diciembre del Florón meet every two weeks. They work in various businesses such as general trade, service delivery and more. A while ago, they decided to unite and form this credit group, which has helped them a lot in their businesses and family lives.

One of the members of this group is Mrs. Carolina. She is 29 years old and is married with two children who are 6 years old and 5 months old. Her oldest child is in school. Her husband works for the state.

Doña Carolina is a housewife who makes her own income to help her husband with household expenses by selling clothes, shoes and Yanbal products (beauty products, cosmetics, fragrances and accessories for women). She works three days a week, in the morning she enjoys that her child is in school and she only has to carry the younger one. She sells her goods on credit and collects payment every week. She has worked more than 10 years in this business, which helps to raise their children.

This loan is to buy clothes, shoes, perfumes, lotions and cosmetics. She has been in the Grupo de Crédito from the start and likes it because the loans finance her business. Her dream is to have a boutique.

In this group: María Carolina, Fatima Adriana, Gissella Monserrate, Virginia Del Carmen, María Natalia, María Fernanda, Eliccida Monserrate, María José, Jacinta María, Katty Verónica, Jose Roberto*, Jessenia Maritza*, Dinora Annabel
