Scovia lives in Uganda, Kampala. She is single, with two children, and both of them go to school. She has additional family members. She lives in a rented house, and the family has access to electricity and does not have access to piped water. Her monthly expenses include rent and food.
She sells charcoal at the market on a retail basis. She works seven days a week .She has been in this business for two years.
Scovia has requested a loan of Ugandan shillings 200,000 from MCDT – SACCO to buy bags of charcoal to sell.
Her major challenges include transportation and fluctuating prices.
Her goal and aspiration is to increase her capital base so as to serve her customers better.
