A loan of $700 helped to find people to help plant cacao, to buy cacao trees, and to pay for a car to help him get the trees home.

José Luz's story

José, age 56, has a sixth grade education. He says that he only got through this grade because it was very difficult to go to school more due to the financial situation. José is married, and his wife sells basic grains. They have eight children. Two of them go to school, and the others are in separate households. José only lives with his wife and two children.

José has been working in agriculture ever since he was 15 years old. His father taught him this work because he wanted him to learn the work well so that he would not suffer in the future. José also helps his wife with her basic grains business. This work is 20 minutes away, and they get there in a vehicle. His agricultural work is 10 minutes away, and he gets there by foot. At times his son helps him work a schedule from 6 a.m. until 12 noon.

The loan that he is requesting from CrediCampo is to find people to help him plant cacao. This year he has set out to plant 3,500 square meters of trees. He will also pay a car to help him take them to his house. It is near there that he will plant them, and this will help him a lot. They are wagering a lot on cacao, and this is going to generate a lot of profits in the future.

José's dreams are to always have good health so that he can continue working in agriculture, to be able to help his wife always in the business that she has, and for the business to give them good profits. He also hopes that the cacao crop is good for him so that he gets a lot of income. With the profits he hopes to be able to continue planting more until he has plenty of trees and a good harvest.
