Hasifah is 38 years old and lives in the town of Ggaba in the Kampala south region of Uganda. She is married and has four children; three of them are currently in school. For the past nine years, Hasifah has been working hard to manage her grocery shop, which sells vegetables and fruit.

To help expand her business, Hasifah has requested a loan of 3,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda.

The loan will be used to purchase different types of vegetables and fruit, and will help Hasifah to generate greater profits and meet family needs. Hasifah hopes that in the future she will be able to open up another branch.

Hasifah is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Hasifah who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
