Aisha is 45 years old and lives in the town of Zanna in the Kampala West region of Uganda. She is married and has four children, with one of them currently in school. For the past seven years, Aisha has been working hard to manage her charcoal business, which sells charcoal.

To help expand her business, Aisha has requested a loan of 3,500,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more charcoal and firewood, and will help Aisha to generate greater profits and earn income to cater for their basic needs. Aisha hopes that in the future, she will be able to construct rentals.

Aisha is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Aisha who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for micro-loans.
