Saiyora U. is married, and her husband works as a laborer. Together they have two children. She started her business to help the family make ends meet. The little income her husband earned was not enough to subsist or lead a better quality of life. She started four years ago with a little stand where she sold kitchen supplies, and ultimately she opened her own store, which she still runs today. Gradually she expanded her business and currently she has $4,500 in capital. Her daily income is about 100 Somoni. Now Saiyora wants to expand her business and purchase additional kitchen inventory for her store. For this purpose, she is requesting a loan of 2000 Somoni ($600) for the term of 6 months. With this expansion, she hopes to earn more and thus to be able to meet all the needs of her children.
