Juan lives and works in Colomi. He is 55 years old and has been married for 35 years. He is independent financially, and has been farming for 35 years. He farms on his own 2 hectare plot of land. Here he produces potatoes, oca and papalisa (types of edible tubers), as well as lima beans. He has experience managing these crops, beginning with planting. He has three head of cattle for fattening, and one dairy cow.
Now he requires a loan in order to purchase organic fertilizer (chicken manure), seeds and agricultural supplies for planting, because the season is approaching and he wants to provide himself with these supplies and also wishes to improve his agricultural output, which will allow him to improve his income and therefore his family's living conditions.
