Ismael is a tenacious man. He is 31 years old, married, and has two adolescent children. However, they do not go to school because his community is 100 kilometers from the Puerto Cabezas municipality.

He has been working in agriculture for ten years. He rents an area that is 30 'manzanas' [ a manzana is 1.72 acres], and he grows corn and beans. He also fattens pigs and calves.

In order to buy and fatten pigs and calves, he is requesting his first loan. His dream is to increase the income from the farm, to diversify his production, and to have his own farm so that he does not have to continue renting land to cultivate.
