Ángela is a tenacious dreamer, and she is a farmer. With her work and effort she managed to establish a business of raising pigs. She did this to be able to help her husband with the household expenses. Her large family, which is comprised of four children, requires expenses. She also wants to be able to give the four of them a good education so that they can forge their own future.

Because she wants to expand her house and her business, she is requesting a loan to buy pigs to fatten. She will sell them and get capital to start with this project of expanding her business. She will do this so that she is able to accommodate a greater number of pigs and distribute her pigs to all of the butcher shops in the area.

En vista de que quiere ampliar su casa y su negocio solicita un préstamo para la compra de cerdos los cuales engordara y venderá logrando obtener capital para iniciar con este proyecto de ampliar su negocio para poder albergar un mayor número de cerdos y distribuir sus cerdos en todas las carnicerías del sector.

This loan is structured on Kiva as a bullet loan, which means a single payment is required at the end of the loan term. By Colombian law, Kiva's partner Interactuar is required to offer borrowers loans with a variable interest rate that fluctuates with the market rate. Because fixed monthly payments are applied first to interest and then to principal, Interactuar is unable to predict upfront what portion of each repayment would go towards the loan principal. This creates a challenge with Kiva's system, which doesn't allow for unpredictable principal payments, and can result in some Interactuar clients appearing falsely delinquent. To remedy this, the loan has an end-of-term repayment plan on Kiva, but the borrower will continue scheduled monthly repayments to Interactuar, who will then pass along the principal amount to Kiva lenders. This means that you may see repayments made on this loan throughout the repayment term, as opposed to receiving repayment in full at the end of the loan term.
