Umazi is a business woman who is very hardworking. She lives in her own house that neither has electricity nor piped water. She is married with six children, three of whom are in school.
Umazi has operated a charcoal-selling business for the past four years. Her potential clients are neighbors and passersby.
With the loan, she wants to purchase more sacks of charcoal for resale. She decided to join Yehu to access financial support to improve her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
