Sinat
Mrs. Sinat Y., 56, who lives on an island on the Mekong River about 15 kilometers from Phnom Penh, is a widow with three children: two sons and one daughter. All of the children are married, but one son stays with her, weaving silk at home. She also has two grandchildren living with her.

Sinat has sold silk fabric since 1997, buying the finished products from weavers in Ta Keo province and some from her village for resale. She is now requesting a loan of $1000 to buy more silk fabric for resale.
