Edith lives in Uganda, Kampala. She is single with four children - one of them goes to school. She has no additional family members. She sells charcoal at the market on a retail basis. She works seven days a week .She has been in this business for the last ten years. She earns an additional income from farming. She has requested a loan of 500,000 Ugandan shillings from MCDT – SACCO to buy bags of charcoal. Her major business challenges are seasonality and transportation. Her goal and aspiration is to invest more capital into her farming business. She lives in her own house. The family does not have access to electricity or running water. Her main monthly expenses are food and school fees.
