From Sindangan, Rolando earns a living through his buy-and-sell business of fruits and vegetables. He seeks to have enough inventory to continuously provide for his family.
For his capital needs, Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative (PMPC) stood by him since the start of his business. He is happy that he is able to survive the odds of business with determination and his family is his inspiration.
To earn more money, Rolando applied for a loan to purchase more kilos of vegetables and fruits to sell. Rolando hopes to live comfortably with his children while they finish their studies.
About Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative
Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative (PMPC) was founded in 1992 by the beneficiaries, parents and staff of the Paglaum Community Development Foundation to address economic and livelihood activities for sustainability. The organization operates in the northwestern provinces of Mindanao and Visayas.
In the local vernacular, “paglaum” means “hope.” The initial foundation is dedicated to child development through a holistic approach. The goal is to build self-reliance and expand opportunity so the poorest of the poor can help themselves.
