Mr. Patrocinio is 46 years old, married and has 2 sons. His auto shop is located in a zone where competition is fierce: at the 66th kilometer mark on route 2, in the city of Eusebio Ayala. He began his career by taking classes at the town's trade institute and later by working hands-on with his father at the shop they owned in the city of Caacupé. For ten years he worked there, and he only left when he felt he had obtained the experience necessary to do his job comfortably. Currently, Mr. Patrocionio owns a home-based auto shop that is equipped with modern tools, which were purchased with loans he received from Fundacion Paraguaya. It was hard in the beginning because customers wanted to become familiar with the quality of his work, but thanks to clients', neighbors' and friends' recommendations, now he has a solid clientele. He says that his main accomplishment has been taking risks to achieve his professional independence.
