People order a certain number of lunches, which she prepares and then goes out to deliver. She also makes homemade bread and arepas [corn cakes], which sell very well, including to a bread truck.

This new investment will be to buy a small motorcycle to facilitate delivering the meals.

Ellisenia has very defined goals and objectives, including finishing her college education in law and becoming a lawyer. She also wants to have a small restaurant one day.

Este grupo tiene una amplia trayectoria, han recibido varios créditos y se caracterizan por la puntualidad y compromiso con el reglamento interno de los Banco Mujer. Continúan trabajando con mucho entusiasmo y deseos de seguir ayudando a sus familias. Estas mujeres se han podido consolidar como microempresarias y piensan seguir adelante con sus emprendimientos. Este grupo está compuesto por 6 socias que van a invertir en actividades comerciales y de pequeña industria.
La presidenta de este grupo es Ellisenia, una buena lideresa que ha sabido dirigir el grupo e influenciar de la mejor manera a sus compañeras. Tiene 33 años, vive en unión libre y tiene 2 niñas pequeñas. Tanto ella como su compañero trabajan en lo propio, la falta de empleo los llevo a desarrollar esta actividad, para poder llevar el sustento al hogar.
Posee mucho carácter y visión empresarial, comerciante desde hace muchos años, pero además hace 2 años inicio el negocio de venta de comidas a domicilio, le encargan por día cierta cantidad de almuerzos que ella prepara y luego debe salir a entregar, además elabora pan casero y arepas que se venden muy bien, incluso a un camión repartidos de pan. Esta nueva inversión será para la compra de una pequeña moto para facilitar la entrega de las comidas. Ellisenia tiene metas y objetivos muy bien definidos, entre esos están concluir sus estudios universitario en la carrera de leyes, y llegar a ser una abogada; así como algún día tener un pequeño restaurante.

In Costa Rica, funding for microfinance institutions is hard to come by, and many institutions find themselves having difficulty growing and reaching all the demand for loans that exist. Kiva works with Fundacion Mujer because it attends a very marginalized population in Costa Rica, with a specific focus on women. In addition to the loan, Fundacion Mujer provides specialized training programs for their borrowers on everything from computer classes to salon training. Because of the difficulty in obtaining capital in Costa Rica, Fundacion Mujer cannot serve all the women that need loans. Therefore Kiva plays a unique role in helping Fundacion Mujer grow its portfolio and reach borrowers it otherwise would not be able to.

Fundación Mujer is an organization specializing in the financial and personal development of female entrepreneurs in Costa Rica. They seek to reach underserved populations that may include indigenous communities, immigrants, refugees, victims of domestic violence or women living with HIV/AIDS. Fundación Mujer offers courses in both business and personal development, as well as training in concrete skills such as sewing and other crafts.
