Aidah lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is single with one school-going child. She is not looking after any other members of the family. She has been selling shoes wholesale from the market for five years, working six days a week. She does not have any other source of income.
Aidah has requested a loan of Ugandan Shillings 1,200,000 from MCDT-SACCO to be able to stock more shoes for sale. Her challenges include seasonality. Her dream is to become an importer of both new and second-hand shoes. She joined MCDT- SACCO because of the relatively low interest charged on loans and to save for a house that she plans to build.
She stays in a rented house with access to electricity but no piped water. Her major monthly expenses include rent and school fees.
