Roxana Maribel
Roxana is 26 years old and studied as far as eighth grade. She lives with a partner and he works as a driver for a private firm. They have two children, one aged 5 who is in the first grade at school and a 3-year-old who does not go to school yet. Just the four of them live in the house and their children are their only direct dependents.

For the last 2 years Roxana has made a living as a distributor of products for small neighbourhood shops. This all began because her sister worked for a company and, thanks to her, she started buying products and distributing them to shops. She also works selling products from catalogues, which she did before she became a distributor. She has a vehicle for delivering the products and does this between 8am and 3pm. Her spouse often helps her out.

She will use the loan to buy more products such as detergents, bleach, toilet paper, soap, laundry detergent and basic grains. Her dream is to continue growing the business, get new customers and provide a good service and products. She also hopes to provide her children with the necessary education so that they can get on in life.

More information about this loan

This loan is part of a project to help young men and women in El Salvador (under age 26) launch their own businesses. The field partner is reducing the guarantee for these individuals, who normally would not have access to loans due to their lack of experience. Unemployment for young people is high in El Salvador, a fact that motivates many of them to leave the country instead of searching for work. Aside from access to financing, clients will also be grouped together according to their business types to receive training from CrediCampo's social development unit, and to share advice and support with one another.
