In the area called Estancia Vieja in Colon Parish of the city of Portoviejo the members of the "10 de Diciembre" communal bank get together every fortnight. This place has humble people who work in agriculture and commerce in general. They decided to get together to be able to access the benefits offered by the institution and through the loans improve their businesses.

One of the members is Antonia who is 33 years old and is in a common-law relationship. She has 4 children from this relationship aged 9, 14, 15 and 17. The three oldest study in secondary school while the youngest is in Primary school. Her husband is a farmer.

Antonia is a hard-working woman who has always strove to get ahead through her own efforts. She helps her husband with her earnings. She is in charge of the canteen at the local school. From Monday to Friday she prepares all kinds of healthy foods and also fruit juices which are nutritious for the children who consume her products daily. She has been doing this for two years. The loan is to purchase fruits and foods necessary to prepare the meals.

This is the second cycle for this communal bank and they like it as the loans are very helpful for all the group. Their dreams are to provide better education for their children.

En el sector conocido como Estancia Vieja en la parroquia Colon de la ciudad de Portoviejo se reúnen cada quince días las socias del Grupo De Crédito 10 de Diciembre. Lugar de gente humilde y dedicada a la agricultura y al comercio en general. Ellos decidieron unirse para poder acceder a los beneficios que presta la institución y con los créditos mejorar sus negocios.
Una de las socias de este grupo es la señora Antonia, tiene 33 años de edad, mantiene una relación de unión libre y de esta relación tienen 4 hijos de 17, 15, 14 y 9 años, los tres mayores estudian en colegio y el menor en escuela. Su esposo es agricultor.
Doña Antonia es una mujer muy trabajadora que siempre le ha gustado salir adelante por sus propios medios y con sus ganancias ayudarle a su marido, ella tiene a cargo el bar en una escuela de la localidad, allí de lunes a viernes prepara todo tipo de alimento saludable además de jugos de frutas lo cual es muy nutritivos para los niños que a diario consumen sus alimentos, lleva dos años con este negocio.
Este crédito es para comprar víveres y frutas necesarios para preparar los alimentos. Este es el segundo ciclo en el Grupo De Crédito y le gusta porque los créditos son de mucha ayuda para todos en el grupo. Sus sueños son darles la mejor educación a sus hijos.
