Rose lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is married and has four children who all go to school. She has no additional family members. She lives in her own house and the family has no access to piped water or electricity. Her major monthly expenses include food and school fees.
She sells charcoal at the market on a retail and wholesale basis. She has been in this business for the last eight years. She works seven days a week.
She has requested a loan of 1,200,000 UGX from MCDT – SACCO to buy bags of charcoal. Her major challenges include seasonality and transportation. Her goal and aspiration is to buy a van for transporting charcoal from the village to the market for sale.
