Mbeyu is a married woman living together with her husband and six children. She owns a house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food and school fees.
For the past five years, she has operated a firewood selling business. She sells from home to her neighbours and passersby. She faces a major challenge of the high cost of transportation. She dreams of expanding her business to be a wholesale supplier of firewood in the village.
With the KES 50,000 she wants to purchase bundles of firewood for resale. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
