Delmin Suyapa
Delmin is happy and content because thanks to previous financing she could buy fertilizers such as coffee-specific formulated fertilizer, manure, nitrates, that she used to grow her coffee crop. Her first loan changed her life as it gave her peace knowing that her coffee crop will be more productive for the provided assistance. Her crop was sold to her satisfaction to her wholesaler who was going to buy the product once harvested and that has been completed. Today Delmin seeks support for a second season to invest in growing coffee as this is the primary source of income for her family and she needs assistance as each crop is vulnerable to the elements and needs to be fertilized and tended.

Additional Information

More information about this loan

These loans are designed for female farmers who produce a variety of products (onion, garlic, eggplant, spinach, mango, strawberries, etc.). Loan terms will vary depending on need, and borrowers can choose to make a "bullet" payment timed with harvest profits. Agricultural loans are considered risky in Honduras due to external forces like unpredictable weather and worldwide crop prices. As a result, many traditional financial institutions are unwilling to offer these loans. With Kiva funding, COMIXMUL will be able to reach more borrowers with agricultural loans tailored to their needs.
