The Djiguisseme group consists of five married women who on average are 34 years old with five children. They live in nuclear families in the Heremakono Nord neighborhood of the city of Bougouni.

They became acquainted through neighborhood ties, friendship and commerce. To strengthen their financial capacity to improve their business, they joined the Soro Yiriwaso institution where they are on their fourth loan. All three previous loans have been fully repaid.

This group of women are retail merchants of various items like Kadiatou, who is the first woman standing in the photo from right to left.

She intends to use her loan to buy 5 lengths of pagnes (colorful West-African fabric), beauty products such as lotions, skin creams and soaps from wholesalers in Bougouni. She conducts her retail sales at the market and at home, for cash and on credit, to a mixed clientele.

She expects to attain average monthly profits of 17,500 CFA francs, to be reinvested in the business and used to repay the loan.

Le groupe DJIGUISSEME est constitué de 5 femmes mariées ayant une moyenne d’âge de 34 ans et 5 enfants. Elles vivent dans des familles nucléaires dans le quartier HEREMAKONO NORD de la ville de Bougouni.
Elles se sont connues à travers des liens de voisinage, d’amitié et de commerce. Pour renforcer leur capacité financière afin de mieux faire leur commerce, elles ont adhéré à l’institution de microfinance Soro Yiriwaso avec laquelle elles sont à leur 4ème prêt. Les 3 précédents prêts ont été correctement remboursés. Ce groupe de femmes fait le commerce d’articles divers à l’image de KADIATOU qui est la 1ère femme debout dans la photo de la droite vers la gauche. Elle compte acheter avec son prêt, 5 pièces de pagnes, des produits de beauté tels que les lotions, crèmes et savons avec les grossistes de Bougouni. Elle effectue ses ventes au marché et à domicile, en détail au comptant et à crédit à une clientèle mixte .
Elle envisage réaliser un bénéfice mensuel moyen de 17.500FCFA qui sera investi dans les activités et rembourser le prêt.

Soro Yiriwaso is a microfinance institution that works primarily in rural and semi-urban areas of Mali to provide underprivileged communities with access to financial services.The organization facilitates access for disadvantaged clients, particularly women, to new resources and services, fostering solidarity and cooperation among its clients. Kiva lenders’ funds will enable Soro Yiriwaso to expand its outreach and target even more underserved Malians involved in business and agriculture.
