A citizen from a rural area located in the Cheung Prey district where rice farming is a common way to earn a living, Tha is 61 years old and married. As a mother she has struggled to feed her eight children by farming rice and supplementing her income by working as a garment worker. She and her husband have been in the business for 43 years.
Tha is just with VisionFund for this cycle. She is now applying for a loan to buy a decent motorbike for commuting to work. She hopes this loan will enable her to reduce her expenses on motor-taxis.
About VisionFund Cambodia
VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.
Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
