Marciano is married with one child. He operates a service based business, providing transportation in his community to make a living. His wife is a housekeeper, and also takes care of their pigs and a plot of garden. Having a family is not easy but with their determination to improve their lives, the couple never gets tired from working.
Marciano borrowed a loan from GDMPC micro credit to cover the costs for motor repair and maintenance. He plans to improve his business by having another motorcycle to rental and provide transportation services. In the future, Marciano want to improve the general living situation of the entire family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
