Saturnino settled in Zamboanga del Sur, Philippines together with his family. Over the past fourteen years, Saturnino was able to managed his farm so that he absolutely met the market primary demands. The farm is still doing well and is giving enough cash inflow to cover the family's day-to-day expenditures. He is taking a new loan from GDMPC microcredit to purchase additional grocery goods to sell in order to increase sales. With the acquisition of in-demand basic commodities, Saturnino expects an increase in sales that will expand his business and improve the general living conditions of the family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
