Mary is a single mother of five children and none of whom goes to school. She has a business of selling charcoal, and has been in this business for 10 years.
She has applied for a loan of 3,000,000 Ugandan Shilling (UGX) from MCDT-SACCO to buy more bags of charcoal. She works from home seven days out of every week. She generates additional income from renting rooms. Her major business challenges include seasonality and defaulters.
She is aspiring of becoming a wholesaler and build more rental rooms. She decided to join MCDT-SACCO because of timely loans. She resides in the family house and the family has access to electricity and piped water. Her monthly expenses includes paying utility bills and food for the family.
