Mol is age 46 years and married with one child who is not yet attending school. She lives in a rural village in the Prasat Sambo district, Kampong Thom province. She and her husband earn a living through cassava farming, which they have been doing for 27 years.
This is the third loan for Mol with VisionFund. Her past loans, which she has completely repaid, have helped her to better support her family and to have sufficient working capital for her business. Now she is applying for a new loan to buy fertilizers and seeds for her farmland. She hopes this loan will enable her to grow her current business to earn a larger income and also hopes to extend into a new business as well.
About VisionFund Cambodia
VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.
Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
