Veng C., 40, is married and lives with four children and her husband in Kampong Cham, Cambodia. She is a farmer who grows rice two times per year. First, she grows in raining season which is about 6-7 months. Then, she grows in dry season, which is about 3-4 months, to collect harvest. Farming is hard as the weather conditions in the past year have not been good. Actually, she makes less than one dollar each day. Her husband is a motor-taxi driver. He been doing this business since 2005 and is able to make $3 per day. All four of their children are students. Veng C. is asking a loan of $500 to purchase a good rice seed to grow next year.
