Residing in Takeo province, Tes is a married mother and farmer who grows rice as the main source of income. Nowadays, she needs to support her 9-year-old son, who remains in school. It is the business that she has had for ages.
Tes is in her second cycle with VisionFund (Kiva’s partner) with a successful repayment of her past loan. The positive impact of her original loan has enabled her to cover the needs of her family including purchasing school materials for her kid, buying daily food, and other necessary expenses for her entire household. Now, she is seeking a new loan of 2,000,000 KHR in order to buy fertilizer, insecticide, and to pay the plowing fee. She highly hopes that she can gain double her income better than before.
About VisionFund Cambodia
VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.
Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
