Jocelyn earns a living from buying and selling coconuts while her husband works as a security guard. For three years, Jocelyn has earned well and improved the business. Her earnings go toward her children's education costs. To add more stock, she borrowed a loan from GDMPC micro credit to buy more coconuts to sell. She hopes to have more returns in order to generate additional income for the purpose of improving their house and providing better education to her children.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
