Masika is married woman with three school-going children. She owns a house that neither has electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are school fees and food for the family.
For the past three years, she has operated a shop kiosk business, selling to her neighbours and passersby. She mentioned price fluctuation as her major challenge. She dreams of establishing a wholesale shop in the future.
With the loan, she wants to purchase groundnuts, sweets, soap, and wheat flour for resale. She decided to join Yehu to get financial support.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
