Mwanalima has operated a retail shop for the past three years, selling household consumables like wheat flour and maize flour from home to her neighbors. She faces the challenge of competition in her business. Mwanalima dreams of expanding to a wholesale shop in the future.
With a loan of Kshs 20,000, she wants to purchase wheat flour, maize flour, and cooking oil in bulk.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
