Mbodze is a married woman who has been blessed with five school-going children. She lives in her own house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food and school fees.
Mbodze operates a charcoal-selling business, selling from home to her neighbours and villagers. Her greatest monthly challenge is the high cost of transportation.
She is requesting for a loan to purchase charcoal for resale. She joined Yehu to get financial support.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
