Halima is married and has four children who attend school. She operates a kerosene selling business, which she has been doing for six years. She cites transportation costs as her major challenge.
Halima is requesting a loan from Yehu, which she will use to purchase gallons of kerosene to sell. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business. Halima lives in her own house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food and school fees.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
