Deborah of Women of Peace and Development (WPD) seeks a Kiva loan to purchase Sustainable Energy for All (SE4ALL) products at wholesale and sell retail. Deborah is the president of WPD. WPD focuses on advocacy on behalf of women and children, conducing anti-violence against women workshops, and training rural women on modern agricultural technics, and making eco-stoves from clay. WPD gets its training from grants from Women's Campaign International, UNDP, and the MInistry of Lands, Mines, and Energy, to attend Training of Trainer workshops so they can then head back into their community to impart best practices, new techniques, and education. Led by Deborah, WPD will distributor clean energy products like the improved cookstove and small solar home systems and use the profit to expand their program to empower women.

The epidemic is the largest in history, claiming thousands of lives and deeply affecting the national economy. This partner is continuing to operate throughout the outbreak, but accordingly these loans will have a higher risk associated with them. The organization is the sole wholesale distributor of Envirofit International cookstoves in Liberia, and has successfully utilized a variety of distribution models. Additionally, it is working to pilot the sale and distribution of other products such as solar home systems, water filter systems, bed-nets and Green Charcoal. With Kiva’s support, SJedi will be able to reach more customers and increase their sales.
