Non is aged 52 years old and is married. She lives with her husband and six children in a rural area located in the Ponhea Krek district, Cambodia. She is a farmer who has been growing rice and cassava for 20 years. The current business earns about 30,000KHR per day and most of it is used to feed the family. But she manages to save about 10,000KHR each day.

Non has been with VisionFund for one cycle and completely paid back the previous loan. Now she is leading her group to ask for a new loan. As the leader, she is going to use her portion to buy fertiliser for her cassava plantation. She hopes that this loan will enable her to increase her family’s business and earns more income to make a better living.

VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.

Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
